Set up and Change the Comment System

By default, the Comment System used is the latest version of the Blogger Comment System, you can change it using the Disqus Comment System. If you want to set it up, follow these steps:

1. Go to Blogger Dashboard, select the Layout menu. Look for the Section titled MATERIA THEME PANEL > Click the pencil icon on the JavaScript Variables (Link List) gadget.
2. A Link List configuration popup will appear. Click Add A New Item.
3. In the Site Name field, enter disqusShortname.
4. In the Site URL field, enter your Disqus Shortname. Example: materia-x2.
5. Click the Save button.

Next, you need to change the comment system from Blogger to Disqus:

1. Select the Theme menu > Customize. In the Advanced Dropdown, select the 1. Features option.
2. Look for the slider called Comment System (Disqus/Blogger).
   • To Enable Disqus Comment System, slide it to the left so that value is 1px.
   • To Disable Disqus Comment System, slide it to the right so that value is 2px.
3. Finally, click the Save button (Disk Icon).

If you use the Disqus comment system, the Comments link on the Index page will always say 'Post A Comment', all new comments will not appear in numeric form.
