How to Set a Custom Post Label/Category Icons

This setting is useful for enabling/disabling the Custom Icons feature on Each Label (Each post category/post label has a different Icon) on the label Index Page and Search Page. By default, the Custom Label Icons feature is disabled. Here, you can change it by following the steps below:

  1. Go to Blogger Dashboard, select the Theme menu > Customize.
  2. In the Advanced Dropdown, select the 1. Features option.
  3. Look for the slider called Custom Label Icons (Disable/Enable).
    • To Enable Custom Label Icons feature, slide it to the right so that value is 2px.
    • To Disable Custom Label Icons feature, slide it to the left so that value is 1px.
  4. Finally, click the Save button (Disk Icon)
Note:
  • If this setting is enabled, then the Default Label Icon will disappear and here you have to make each Icon of each post label/category in the Layout (Layout) > MATERIA THEME PANEL > Custom Label Icons (Link List) Gadget.
  • This feature will only appear on the Index Page and Search Page.

Set the Icon for the Post Label/Category

Before setting the Post Label/Category Icon, make sure you have enabled the Custom Label Icons feature first by following the steps above. If so, you can see several steps for Setting a Custom Description below:

  1. To install Icons, you can first install a Browser Plugin called Material Design Icons for Chrome or Firefox.
  2. Once installed, click the Material Design Icons Plugin icon, type the name of the icon you want to use in the search field.
  3. Select the icon, then select the menu (three dots) at the bottom and click Copy SVG PATH.
  4. Go to Blogger Dashboard, select the Layout menu. Look for the Section titled MATERIA THEME PANEL > Click the pencil icon on the Custom Label Icons (Link List) Gadget.
  5. A Link List configuration popup will appear. Click Add A New Item.
  6. In the Site Name field, enter the name of your post Label/Category (Case Sensitive).
  7. In the Site URL field, paste the SVG Path Data that you copied earlier.
  8. Finally, click the Save button (Disk Icon)
Site Name field is Case Sensitive. The capitalization of letters is very influential and different. Make sure the capitalization of the letters is the same as the name of the label or post category you are using.
