How to Set a Custom Post Label/Category Description

This setting is useful for enabling/disabling the Description feature on Each Label (Each post category/post label has a different description) on the label search page. By default, the Custom Label Description feature is disabled. Here, you can change it by following the steps below:

  1. Go to Blogger Dashboard, select the Theme menu > Customize.
  2. In the Advanced Dropdown, select the 1. Features option.
  3. Look for the slider called Custom Label Description (Disable /Enable).
    • To Enable Custom Label Description feature, slide it to the right so that value is 2px.
    • To Disable Custom Label Description feature, slide it to the left so that value is 1px.
  4. Finally, click the Save button (Disk Icon)
Note:
  • If this setting is enabled, then you have to make each description of each post label/category in the Layout (Layout) > MAIN > Label Search Description (Link List) Gadget.
  • This feature will only appear on the Label Search page.

Set the Description for the Post Label/Category

Before setting the Post Label/Category Description, make sure you have enabled the Custom Label Description feature first by following the steps above. If so, you can see several steps for Setting a Custom Description below:

  1. Go to Blogger Dashboard, select the Layout menu. Look for the Section titled MAIN > Click the pencil icon on the Label Search Description (Link List) Gadget.
  2. A Link List configuration popup will appear. Click Add A New Item.
  3. In the Site Name field, enter the name of your post Label/Category (Case Sensitive).
  4. In the Site URL field, enter a description/explanation/description of the label/category of your post.
  5. Finally, click the Save button (Disk Icon)
Note:
  • Site Name field is Case Sensitive. The capitalization of letters is very influential and different. Make sure the capitalization of the letters is the same as the name of the label or post category you are using.
  • You can use HTML tag/markup in the Site URL field.
